The tears continued to roll down
With a will of their own
They spelled of broken hearts
And shattered dreams
Of promises not kept
Clever lies and cheats

No words came forth
So battered was the spirit
Too shocked and numb
Trust - could she ever feel it again ?

Those whispers in the dark
Castles gleefully built in the air
Thread by thread
The fantasies that were shared

Her body felt weak
The mind even more
All she wanted was to let go
Sink into oblivion
Crawl back into the safe womb
Away from all deception and pain

The tears streamed down freely onto her pillow
Leaving dirty trails on rosy cheeks
All will, all tenderness frozen

Slowly sobs escaped her lips
Silent screams, helpless rage
Cutting into her honest soul
And as sadness caressed her to sleep
She knew ..
Love ?
No, she just couldn't Love again !!
