There's so much difference in the Independence of today and the yesteryears!
I gaze at the old B&W pics of our freedom fighters, the simple ordinary people, the innocent children, and I'm filled with an extraordinary sense of pride & patriotism!
And then as my focus shifts to the India of today.. looted and plundered by politicians.. where money sings, lawlessness & "freedom" of a different kind abounds.
I'm filled with loath, cynicism and smirk it all away-- Independence Day??
Maybe when I have kids. I will act all righteous. But yeah soon d disillusionment and silent anger will get to them too as they grow up and know their country for what it really is!
But still, for today, Jai Hind!!
